Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 ounces Wagyu beef, thinly sliced (carpaccio style)
  • 3 ounces aged cheddar cheese, shaved or finely grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze (optional, for garnish)

Prep Steps

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  2. 2Lightly brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil. Toast in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  3. 3Carefully place a slice of thinly prepared Wagyu beef onto each toasted crostini.
  4. 4Generously sprinkle the shaved aged cheddar cheese over the Wagyu beef.
  5. 5Garnish each crostini with finely chopped fresh chives, a pinch of flaky sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
  6. 6For an extra touch of gourmet, drizzle a small amount of balsamic glaze over each crostini just before serving.

Chef's Tip & Pairing

A bold, fruit-forward Zinfandel or a hoppy American Pale Ale will complement the richness of the Wagyu beef and the sharpness of the cheddar, echoing the perfect pairing for a gourmet burger.
