Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 pound fresh Dungeness or lump crab meat, picked clean
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, plus more for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Microgreens or chives for garnish

Prep Steps

  1. 1Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  3. 3Toast for 8 minutes
  4. 4minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Set aside to cool.
  5. 5In a small bowl, gently combine the crab meat, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Be careful not to break up the crab too much.
  6. 6In a separate bowl, mash the avocado with a fork until chunky
  7. 7smooth. Season with a pinch of salt and a small squeeze of lemon juice.
  8. 8To assemble, spread a generous layer of the mashed avocado onto each toasted crostini.
  9. 9Top the avocado with a spoonful of the seasoned crab mixture.
  10. 10Garnish with a few microgreens or finely snipped chives and serve immediately.
