Ingredients

  • baguette, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • tbsp olive oil
  • oz smoked pulled pork (pre
  • cooked)
  • tbsp BBQ sauce (tangy, vinegar
  • based)
  • oz crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup sliced strawberries
  • tsp fresh thyme leaves

Prep Steps

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush baguette slices with olive oil and toast for 8 minutes
  2. 2minutes until golden and crisp.
  3. 3While the bread toasts, gently warm the pulled pork and toss it with the BBQ sauce in a small saucepan.
  4. 4Spoon a generous layer of the smoky BBQ pulled pork onto each crostini.
  5. 5Top the pork with a sprinkle of crumbled blue cheese, and then arrange the sliced strawberries and whole blueberries for a patriotic color scheme.
  6. 6Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and serve immediately.

Chef's Tip & Pairing

For an extra layer of flavor, lightly grill the baguette slices instead of baking them to enhance the BBQ theme. Pair this crostini with a crisp, slightly off-dry Rosé or a light-bodied, smoky Pinot Noir.
