  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil pesto (preferably homemade)
  • 8 oz fresh burrata cheese, drained and gently torn
  • 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts
  • 2 tablespoons aged balsamic glaze
  • Flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Prep Steps

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush both sides of the baguette slices with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  2. 2Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast for 8 minutes
  3. 3minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  4. 4Spread a generous layer of basil pesto evenly over each toasted crostini slice.
  5. 5Gently tear pieces of the burrata cheese and place them on top of the pesto.
  6. 6Drizzle the crostini with the aged balsamic glaze and sprinkle with toasted pine nuts, flaky sea salt, and black pepper.
  7. 7Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and crisp.

Chef's Tip & Pairing

For an extra layer of flavor, lightly char the burrata with a kitchen torch before serving. Pair this rich appetizer with a crisp, dry Italian white wine like Vermentino or a chilled glass of Prosecco.
