A crisp slice of toasted baguette provides the perfect base for a generous smear of vibrant, homemade basil pesto, topped with a cloud of creamy, fresh burrata cheese. A drizzle of aged balsamic glaze and a sprinkle of toasted pine nuts add a final layer of complexity, making every bite an unforgettable indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced diagonally into 1/2 inch thick pieces (about 16 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil pesto (preferably homemade)
  • 8 oz fresh burrata cheese, drained and gently torn
  • 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts
  • 2 tablespoons aged balsamic glaze
  • Flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush both sides of the baguette slices with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  2. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast for 8 minutes

  4. Spread a generous layer of basil pesto evenly over each toasted crostini slice.
  5. Gently tear pieces of the burrata cheese and place them on top of the pesto.

  7. Serve immediately while the bread is still warm and crisp.
