Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces fresh goat cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup fig jam or preserves
  • 2 tablespoons shelled pistachios, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey, preferably local
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish (optional)

Prep Steps

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  2. 2Brush both sides of the baguette slices lightly with olive oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  3. 3Spread a generous layer of softened goat cheese on each toasted crostini.
  4. 4Top the goat cheese with a small dollop of fig jam.
  5. 5Sprinkle the chopped pistachios evenly over the crostini.
  6. 6Drizzle each crostini with a touch of honey and a pinch of sea salt.
  7. 7Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs, if desired, and serve immediately.

Chef's Tip & Pairing

For a perfect pairing, serve this crostini with a crisp, slightly sweet white wine like a Sancerre or a dry Rosé. The wine's acidity will cut through the richness of the goat cheese and complement the sweetness of the figs and honey.
