Spiced Orange Ricotta Bundt-Inspired Crostini

Spiced Orange Ricotta Bundt-Inspired Crostini

Tini Crostini

This sweet crostini transforms the comforting flavors of a classic spiced Bundt cake into an elegant appetizer. Creamy, citrus-infused ricotta sits atop a crisp toasted baguette, finished with a warm, aromatic honey glaze and a sprinkle of toasted nuts. The result is a sophisticated bite that is both familiar and delightfully unexpected.

Sweet & Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup fresh ricotta cheese, drained
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest, finely grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup shelled pistachios, roughly chopped, for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with melted butter. Toast for 8-10 minutes minutes, or until golden and crisp.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the drained ricotta cheese, grated orange zest, fresh orange juice, honey, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Taste the ricotta mixture and adjust sweetness or spice as desired.
  4. Once the crostini are cooled, spread a generous dollop of the spiced orange ricotta mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
  5. Arrange the crostini on a serving platter. Drizzle lightly with additional honey and sprinkle with chopped pistachios.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the delightful blend of flavors.

Chef's Tip & Pairing

For an extra layer of flavor, infuse the honey glaze with a small sprig of fresh rosemary while warming it. This adds a subtle, herbaceous note that complements the orange and spice beautifully.
