A vibrant, savory-sweet appetizer perfect for a summer gathering. Creamy goat cheese provides a tangy base for fresh, sweet strawberries and a drizzle of rich balsamic glaze. The combination is light, refreshing, and visually stunning with its patriotic colors.

Ingredients

  • baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
  • tablespoons olive oil
  • oz soft goat cheese (chevre), softened
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
  • tablespoons balsamic glaze (or reduction)
  • teaspoon fresh mint, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Pinch of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and arrange on a baking sheet. Toast for 8 minutes

  3. While the crostini cool slightly, spread a generous layer of softened goat cheese onto each slice.
