Ingredients

  • baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
  • tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • oz creamy goat cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • slices prosciutto, thinly sliced and torn
  • teaspoon pink peppercorns, lightly crushed
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Prep Steps

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and toast on a baking sheet for 8 minutes
  2. 2minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp.
  3. 3While the crostini are still warm, spread a thin layer of softened goat cheese on each slice.
  4. 4Top the goat cheese with a small dollop of fig jam, then drape a torn piece of prosciutto over the jam.
  5. 5Sprinkle the crostini with the lightly crushed pink peppercorns and garnish with a small basil leaf. Serve immediately.

Chef's Tip & Pairing

Pair this crostini with a crisp, dry Rosé wine, such as a Provençal Rosé, whose subtle berry notes and bright acidity will complement the salty prosciutto and sweet fig jam beautifully.
