Dark Chocolate Mascarpone and Cherry Crostini

A sophisticated dessert crostini that captures the essence of summer. Creamy, cocoa-infused mascarpone is spread over a crisp baguette slice, then topped with sweet, juicy fresh cherries. The final touch of a rich balsamic glaze elevates the flavors, offering a delightful balance of sweet and tart.

Ingredients

  • baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces
  • tablespoons olive oil
  • oz mascarpone cheese, softened
  • tablespoons powdered sugar
  • tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • tablespoon balsamic glaze (or reduction)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and toast for 8 minutes

  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and uniform in color.
