Dark Chocolate Fig Ricotta Crostini

This decadent dessert crostini is a sophisticated blend of creamy, sweet, and salty. The rich dark chocolate ganache melts into the cool, fresh ricotta, perfectly balanced by the chewiness of the fig and a final sprinkle of flaky sea salt.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 8 ounces fresh ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup fig jam
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey, for drizzling
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  2. Brush both sides of the baguette slices with melted butter. Bake for 8-10 minutes minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp.
  3. While the crostini are still warm, spread a generous layer of fresh ricotta cheese on each slice.
  4. Top the ricotta with a spoonful of fig jam.
  5. Sprinkle the finely chopped dark chocolate over the fig jam.
  6. Drizzle with honey and a pinch of sea salt before serving.

Chef's Tip & Pairing

For an extra layer of flavor, infuse the heavy cream with a sprig of fresh rosemary before making the ganache, removing the herb before pouring the cream over the chocolate.
